Filtered through the experience we have made with our perceptions we design a world around us in which we believe to know how things and people are and how they are not. Our unique experience is the basis of our thinking, our demeanor and actions. We assess the demands that the environment places on us based on this narrow experience and can be alarmed and sometimes even annoyed when things don‘t match. In this case denial, defense, retreat or counterattack are common strategies for coping with the situation. The path of unbiased curiosity is a rocky road to travel instead.
